Hey there, fellow moms! Let's talk about something we can all relate to being the ones behind the camera instead of in front of it. As a mom and a photographer myself, I completely understand the struggle. We're the memory keepers, tirelessly documenting every milestone and moment, but when it comes to flipping through family albums or scrolling through our camera rolls, we're hardly there. But here's the thing, moms: it's time to change that narrative.
Because moms deserve to be in the spotlight too!
Do you know why photos make the perfect Mother's Day present?
Because they're all about you, Mom! Think about it—photos capture those moments of love, laughter, and connection that you treasure most. They're like little snapshots of happiness that you can hold onto forever. Whether it's a candid shot of you and your kids sharing a giggle or a beautiful family portrait, each photo tells a story of the special bond you share. And the best part? Every time you look at those photos, you're reminded of how much you're loved and appreciated.
So for this Mother`s Day, I organized a photo shoot in Basel
to help moms get the attention they deserve. During this 20-minute session, we had the opportunity to enjoy quality time with their little ones in front of a beautifully decorated backdrop. Whether the families were playing games, engaging in crafts, or simply cuddling up together, I was there to capture every genuine smile and heartfelt moment.
I know how important it is to have these memories preserved, not just for our children but for ourselves as well. I’m all about moms being front and center in family photos, not just behind the camera.
It’s a special way for the children to see how awesome and beautiful their mom is as they look back at these memories.
I love flipping through old family albums and seeing my mom shining in them.
By the way, do you know the origin of Mother`s Day?
Mother's Day is a special day to celebrate and honor mothers and motherhood. Its origins can be traced back to ancient festivals honoring mother goddesses. In modern times, it was first suggested by Julia Ward Howe in 1870 and later campaigned for by Anna Jarvis, who wanted to honor her own mother's legacy. President Woodrow Wilson officially declared Mother's Day a national holiday in 1914. Since then, it has become widely celebrated worldwide, with people showing appreciation for their mothers with cards, flowers, and gifts. It's a day to say thank you to the women who have shaped our lives with their love and care.
Mother's Day is important because it's a dedicated time to honor and appreciate the women who have played a significant role in our lives. Mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, and mother figures alike deserve recognition for their love, sacrifices, and nurturing guidance.
It's a chance for us to express gratitude for all the selfless acts of kindness and support they've shown us throughout the years.
I wish you all a happy and relaxed Mother`s Day with your family!
Warmly,
Nikolett
